  14.     1/4 c  Butter                           1/2 c  Sugar    
  15.       1 t  Vanilla                            2 ea Eggs, separated    
  16.     1/2 c  Flour, UNsifted                  1/2 t  Baking powder    
  17.     1/4 t  Salt                           1 1/2 c  Chopped dates    
  18.     3/4 c  Chopped nuts

  20.   Preheat oven to 275-300 degrees.  Grease a 6x10 inch pan.
  21.   Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.  Add egg yolks.  Add flour, baking powder,
  22.   salt, dates, and nuts.  Add beaten egg whites.  Pour into pan and bake 45
  23.   minutes.
  24.   (The author of this recipe forgot to say when to add the vanilla, so I put
  25.   it in where I thought it ought to go.)
